Home School Resources: How it Works
Home School Resources: How It Works
Home schooling doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. I’ve designed my resources to give you structure, flexibility, and choice — so you can build a curriculum that works for your child.
Step 1: Explore the Subjects
Each subject has its own structure:
- KS3 English: Coming Soon!
- KS4 GCSE English: half-termly topics (around 6 weeks each), covering both English Language and English Literature.
- GCSE Psychology: half-termly topics (around 6 weeks each), giving short, focused introductions to core ideas in human behaviour.
- GCSE Sociology: termly topics (around 12 weeks each), introducing key themes and concepts from the social sciences.
To complete a full academic year, you’ll choose:
- Up to 6 topics for KS4 GCSE English (one per half term)
- Up to 6 topics for GCSE Psychology (one per half term)
- 3 topics for GCSE Sociology (one per term)
Step 2: Read the Topic Selection Guide
To help you decide, I’ve created a Topic Selection Guide for each subject that brings together all the available topics in one place.
Each topic has its own page with an overview, the key skills covered, and the topic structure. This gives you a clear picture of what each unit involves before making your selection.
Step 3: View the Suggested Curriculum Maps
If you’d like more guidance, I’ve put together suggested curriculum maps that show how topics can be sequenced across the year. These suggestions make planning simple and balanced — but you can also mix and match to suit your child’s needs.
Step 4: Choose and Purchase Your Topics
When you’re ready, head to the subject tab at the top of this page and purchase the topics you’d like. You can buy individual topics, or if you’d prefer a full GCSE pathway in Sociology or Psychology, that option is available too.
Once purchased, you’ll get access to a secure Google Drive folder containing everything you need to teach the topic:
- Topic Overview
- Lesson PowerPoints – structured slides to guide each session
- Student Workbook – with tasks, notes, and space for responses
- Additional Resources – such as revision guides, knowledge organisers, exam practice questions, extracts, and links to wider reading or video content
This way, you’ll have all the teaching and learning materials in one place, ready to use straight away.
